Abstract

Fenomena personalisasi melalui aktivitas mendekorasi ruang mendorong kebutuhan akan produk yang tidak hanya estetis, namun juga dapat disesuaikan dengan identitas dan preferensi pribadi. Aktivitas Do It Yourself (DIY) menjadi cara untuk mengekspresikan diri dalam personalisasi ruang, termasuk ruang tamu yang merupakan area representatif dalam rumah. Namun, keterbatasan pada keterampilan dan fleksibilitas produk sering menjadi hambatan dalam mewujudkan dekorasi yang sesuai preferensi pengguna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang set lampu dekoratif untuk ruang tamu yang mendukung aktivitas DIY secara fungsional dan emosional, dengan pendekatan gaya kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan pengguna serta mengeksplorasi preferensi gaya dekorasi. Proses perancangan dilakukan melalui tahapan eksplorasi bentuk, pemilihan alternatif desain, dan pengembangan prototipe. Konsep desain yang dihasilkan menerapkan prinsip modularitas, fleksibilitas visual, dan transformasi fungsi, dengan bentuk geometris sederhana sebagai kanvas netral untuk personalisasi. Hasil perancangan berupa satu set lampu dekoratif bernama Elumèa yang terdiri dari lampu gantung, lampu meja, lampu lantai, dan dudukan vas dengan sistem modular yang memungkinkan fleksibilitas visual dan transformasi fungsi sebagai vas kering. Produk dilengkapi dengan aksesoris klasik, playful, dan natural sebagai tambahan untuk mendukung berbagai gaya dekorasi, sehingga memberikan ruang personalisasi yang tinggi bagi pengguna. Dengan mengutamakan fleksibilitas dan personalisasi, rancangan ini diharapkan menjadi solusi dekoratif yang mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan emosional pengguna dalam penataan ruang dan menjadi respons terhadap tren dekorasi masa kini yang menekankan fleksibilitas, personalisasi, dan kreativitas.

The phenomenon of personalization through the activity of decorating spaces encourages the need for products that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but can also be adjusted to personal identity and preferences. Do It Yourself (DIY) activities have become a way to express oneself in personalizing spaces, including the living room which is a representative area in the house. However, limitations on skills and product flexibility often become obstacles in realizing decorations that match user preferences. This research aims to design a modular decorative light set for the living room that supports DIY activities functionally and emotionally, with a contemporary style approach. The methods used include literature studies, observations, interviews, and questionnaires to identify user needs and explore decorating style preferences. The design process was carried out through the stages of form exploration, selection of design alternatives, and prototype development. The resulting design concept applies the principles of modularity, visual flexibility, and function transformation, with geometric shapes as a neutral canvas for personalization. The design result is a set of decorative lamps called Elumea consisting of a hanging lamp, table lamp, floor lamp, and vase stand with a modular system that allows visual flexibility and function transformation as a dry vase. The product are complemented by classic, playful, and natural accessories as additions to support a variety of decorating styles, thus providing a high degree of personalization space for users. By prioritizing flexibility and personalization, this design is expected to be a decorative solution that can increase the user's emotional involvement in the arrangement of space and be a response to current decoration trends that emphasize flexibility, personalization, and creativity.
