Abstract

mengkonversikan energi mekanis sistem menjadi bentuk energi
dibutuhkan. Pada kendaraan komersil saat ini sebenarnya sudah
terdapat pengaplikasian sistem charging baterai (accumulator)
memanfaatkan energi dari combustion engine, yaitu menggunakan
alternator.
kendaraan berdasarkan peta distribusi pengeremannya (Fbraking),
9378,837452 kJ. Efisiensi sistem adalah sebesar 69,62%.
Generator yang akan digunakan adalah Dynastart SG-430.
Sedangkan baterai yang akan digunakan adalah Lithium-Ion
Rechargeable Cell 576V 60Ah Battery Pack. Kapasitas baterai
yang dibutuhkan untuk menyimpan energi hasil pengereman
adalah 17,0524 Ah.

Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) is an automotive
system that aims to recover the vehicle's kinetic energy which is
wasted during braking. Briefly, KERS is a braking system which
convert mechanical energy into other forms of energy that can be
saved for reuse later on when needed. In the commercial vehicle
there is already a battery charging system application
(accumulator) utilizing the energy of the combustion engine, which
uses the alternator. Alternator commonly used in the automotive
industry to charge the battery and to power the electrical system
when the vehicle is in operation.
This research will analyze the application of a battery
charging system for a larger-scale needs, which in addition to meet
the power needs of electrical system in the vehicle, as well as to
assist vehicle acceleration. For that we have to determine the
capacity of the generator to be able to store and distribute
combustion engine’s rotation into electrical energy and to
determine the battery capacity required to store the vehicle’s
braking energy based on the driving cycle of Transjakarta. The
method used to calculate the forces of braking the vehicle based on
a map of the distribution of braking (Fbraking), then determine the
value of the braking energy that can be captured by the generator
by comparing the magnitude of the kinetic energy of the vehicle
(translation and rotation) on the initial braking and the kinetic
energy of the vehicle at the end braking based on the driving cycle
of Transjakarta. Once we get the value of energy generated based
on a function of time, we can determine the generator and battery
specification required to store the braking energy.
In this research, total braking energy available during
deceleration is 13471,49398 kJ, total braking energy that can be
utilized is 10420,9305 kJ, and the total value of the braking energy
that can be captured is 9378,837452 kJ. The efficiency of the
system is equal to 69,62%. Generator to be used is Dynastart SG-
430. While the battery to be used is the Cell Lithium-Ion
Rechargeable Battery Pack 576V 60Ah. The battery capacity is
needed to store the results of the braking energy is 17,0524 Ah.
