Abstract
Penggunaan alat berat secara terus menerus di industri pertambangan dapat menurunkan kualitas unit maupun komponen alat berat, hingga terjadi kerusakan. Penggantian unit atau komponen baru yang umumnya produk impor membutuhkan biaya yang tinggi. Alat berat yang rusak masih memiliki potensi untuk dipulihkan melalui strategi pemulihan produk seperti remanufaktur dan refurbishment. Hingga saat ini belum ada kajian yang secara kuantitatif menilai dampak lingkungan dari strategi pemulihan tersebut di Indonesia. Selain itu, belum tersedia database yang dapat membantu pelaku remanufaktur dan refurbishment dalam menghitung dan membandingkan dampak lingkungan antar strategi pemulihan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan life cycle assessment (LCA) pada proses remanufaktur dan refurbishment dan mengonversikannya ke pajak karbon, serta mendesain database dampak lingkungan khususnya global warming dan pajak karbon dari kedua strategi pemulihan tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa remanufaktur mesin alat berat mampu menghemat dampak lingkungan dan pajak karbon sebesar 46,86% per unit mesin, sedangkan refurbishment subkomponen/part mesin alat berat mampu menghemat dampak lingkungan dan pajak karbon sebesar 16,08% dibandingkan mesin baru. Penghematan ini dapat meningkat signifikan jika volume remanufaktur dan refurbishment bertambah dan berpotensi sebagai insentif pajak karbon. Analisis per part juga menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua subkomponen/part remanufaktur dan refurbishment memberikan penghematan yang positif, sehingga perlu pertimbangan teknis dan ekonomi untuk menentukan subkomponen/part yang sebaiknya diremanufaktur, di-refurbishment, atau diganti baru. Database yang disusun dalam penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu perusahaan dalam memperkirakan dampak lingkungan dan pajak karbon sesuai komposisi part setiap mesin, serta menjadi acuan bagi pemerintah dalam penetapan kebijakan.

Continuous use of heavy equipment in the mining industry can degrade the quality of units and components, leading to damage. Replacing new units or components, which are generally imported, is expensive. Damaged heavy equipment still has the potential to bypass product recovery strategies such as remanufacturing and refurbishment. To date, no study has quantitatively assessed the environmental impact of these recovery strategies in Indonesia. Furthermore, there is no database available to assist remanufacturing and refurbishment actors in calculating and comparing the environmental impacts between recovery strategies. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a life cycle assessment (LCA) on the remanufacturing and refurbishment process, convert it into carbon tax, and design a database of environmental impacts, specifically global warming and carbon taxes, of these two product recovery strategies. The results of the analysis show that remanufacturing heavy equipment engines can save environmental impacts and carbon taxes by 46.86% per engine unit, while refurbishment of heavy equipment engine subcomponents/parts can save environmental impacts and carbon taxes by 16.08% compared to new engines. These savings can increase significantly if the volume of remanufacturing and refurbishment increases and has the potential to be a carbon tax incentive. Part-by-part analysis also shows that not all remanufactured and refurbished subcomponents/parts provide positive savings, so technical and economic considerations are needed to determine which subcomponents/parts should be remanufactured, refurbished, or replaced. The database compiled in this study is expected to help companies in estimating environmental impacts and carbon taxes according to the composition of each machine's parts, as well as being a reference for the government in determining policies.
