Abstract

Sebagai kota metropolitan terbesar kedua di Indonesia, Surabaya menunjukkan perkembangan signifikan di berbagai sektor, termasuk perhotelan. Peningkatan urbanisasi dan mobilitas masyarakat mendorong permintaan terhadap akomodasi yang tidak hanya nyaman, tetapi juga memiliki karakter dan daya tarik tersendiri. Hotel Bisanta Bidakara Tunjungan, sebuah hotel bintang tiga yang telah beroperasi cukup lama di pusat kota, masih mempertahankan sentuhan. Meskipun hotel ini memiliki identitas brand sebagai hotel dengan konsep tradisional, kurangnya elemen yang benar-benar menonjol dan membedakan menjadikan daya tariknya cenderung generik di tengah persaingan industri perhotelan yang semakin kompetitif. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang interior Hotel Bisanta Bidakara Tunjungan pada area lobi dan restoran dengan pendekatan konsep ethnic luxury yang memadukan elemen budaya lokal khas kota Surabaya dengan gaya desain modern yang mewah. Metodologi yang digunakan merupakan proses desain iteratif yang dimodifikasi, dimulai dari pengumpulan dan akumulasi data, brainstorming ide, pengembangan desain awal, hingga iterasi dan penyempurnaan desain akhir. Hasil dari perancangan ini berupa rancangan interior yang diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan citra hotel sebagai akomodasi berkarakter lokal dengan kualitas visual dan pengalaman ruang yang lebih baik

As the second largest metropolitan city in Indonesia, Surabaya has shown significant development across various sectors, including hospitality. The rise in urbanization and public mobility has increased the demand for accommodations that offer not only comfort but also distinctive character and appeal. Hotel Bisanta Bidakara Tunjungan, a threestar hotel that has long operated in the city center, still retains traditional elements in its interior design as part of its brand identity. However, despite its branding as a traditionally themed hotel, the lack of truly prominent and distinguishing features has made its appeal rather generic amidst the increasingly competitive hospitality industry. This design project aims to redesign the interior of Hotel Bisanta Bidakara Tunjungan, particularly in the lobby and restaurant areas, through an ethnic luxury approach that combines local cultural elements specific to Surabaya with a luxurious modern design style. The methodology applied is a modified iterative design process, starting from data
collection and accumulation, ideation and brainstorming, early design development, and proceeding through to design iterations and final refinement. The result of this design project is an interior concept that is expected to optimize the hotel’s image as a locally characterized accommodation with enhanced visual quality and spatial experience
