Abstract

Kemasan produk farmasi memiliki peran krusial dalam menjamin kenyamanan pengguna, kepatuhan terhadap pengobatan, serta efektivitas produk secara keseluruhan. Namun, proses pengembangan kemasan secara konvensional kerap memerlukan waktu yang panjang, biaya yang tinggi, dan sumber daya yang besar, karena melibatkan pembuatan prototipe fisik secara berulang untuk memperoleh desain yang optimal. Seiring meningkatnya kebutuhan akan efisiensi dalam pengembangan produk farmasi, pemanfaatan teknologi Mixed Reality muncul sebagai alternatif solusi yang potensial. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan prototipe digital berbasis Mixed Reality dan membandingkan tingkat usabilitas desain kemasan farmasi dari dua metode pengujian yang berbeda. Sebanyak sepuluh partisipan mengikuti serangkaian eksperimen dengan memindahkan dan mengoperasikan empat jenis kemasan obat (botol, roll on, tube, dan spray) dalam dua metode pengujian yaitu konvensional dan Mixed Reality menggunakan perangkat Microsoft HoloLens 2. Data completion time dianalisis menggunakan Paired t-test dan Two-way ANOVA. Selain itu, evaluasi terhadap usabilitas dilakukan dengan kuesioner System Usability Scale (SUS) dan in-depth interview. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata completion time pada pengujian konvensional adalah 2,153 detik, sementara pada pengujian dengan Mixed Reality adalah 2,169 detik, dengan selisih yang tidak terlalu signifikan secara statistik. Analisis lanjutan menggunakan Two-way ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa jenis kemasan, aspek desain, dan interaksi antara keduanya berpengaruh signifikan terhadap waktu penyelesaian tugas (p < 0,001). Hasil uji lanjut Tukey-Kramer mengelompokkan kemasan tube dan roll on sebagai kemasan dengan waktu penyelesaian tercepat, sedangkan botol dan spray memiliki completion time lebih lama. Hasil skor SUS sebesar 69,25, yang termasuk kategori “baik”. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknologi Mixed Reality mampu menjadi alternatif efisien dalam evaluasi desain kemasan farmasi, memungkinkan interaksi yang imersif dan fleksibel, serta berpotensi mengurangi kebutuhan akan prototipe fisik sehingga mendukung efisiensi waktu dan biaya dalam proses pengembangan produk.

Pharmaceutical product Packaging plays a crucial role in ensuring user comfort, treatment compliance, and overall product effectiveness. However, the conventional Packaging development process often requires a long time, high costs, and significant resources, as it involves repeatedly creating physical prototypes to obtain an optimal design. As the need for efficiency in pharmaceutical product development grows, the use of Mixed Reality technology emerges as a potential alternative solution. Therefore, this study aims to develop a Mixed Reality-based digital prototype and compare the usability levels of pharmaceutical Packaging designs from two different testing methods. Ten participants took part in a series of experiments involving moving and operating four types of medication Packaging (bottles, roll ons, tubes, and sprays) using two testing methods: conventional and Mixed Reality, utilizing the Microsoft HoloLens 2 device. Completion time data was analyzed using a Paired t-test and Two-way ANOVA. Additionally, usability evaluation was conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire and in-depth interviews. The study results showed that the average completion time in conventional testing was 2.153 seconds, while in Mixed Reality testing it was 2.169 seconds, with a statistically insignificant difference. Further analysis using Two-way ANOVA showed that Packaging type, design aspects, and the interaction between the two significantly influenced task completion time (p < 0.001). The Tukey-Kramer post-hoc test grouped tube and roll on Packaging as the fastest completion time, while bottles and sprays had longer completion times. The SUS score was 69.25, which falls into the “good” category. Therefore, it can be concluded that Mixed Reality technology can serve as an efficient alternative in evaluating pharmaceutical Packaging design, enabling immersive and flexible interaction, and potentially reducing the need for physical prototypes, thereby supporting time and cost efficiency in the product development process.
