Abstract

This report presents the results of an industrial internship at PT. Banter Prima Sentosa, a company specializing in the design and fabrication of Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) vessels. The main focus of the internship was to understand the working principle and maintenance procedures of slurry pumps, which are critical components in dredging operations. The internship spanned four months and included various activities such as system operations, construction, field inspections, and quality control. In addition to direct observation, the intern was involved in producing as-built drawings and conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) to evaluate weld quality without damaging the components. Several NDT methods were applied, including radiography testing, dye penetrant testing, and magnetic particle inspection. The internship experience demonstrated the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application to support a safe and efficient production process.
