Abstract

Pantai Mayangan, yang memiliki potensi besar sebagai destinasi wisata bahari, membutuhkan pengembangan yang terintegrasi untuk mengoptimalkan nilai ekonomi, sosial, dan budaya kawasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengimplementasikan konsep urban catalyst melalui pengembangan wisata bahari, dengan pendekatan regionalisme sebagai landasan perancangan. Konsep urban catalyst diterapkan untuk menciptakan dampak positif yang meluas, meningkatkan konektivitas kawasan, serta menghidupkan kembali aktivitas lokal berbasis budaya dan kelautan. Sementara itu, pendekatan regionalisme memastikan bahwa rancangan mempertahankan identitas lokal, mencerminkan karakter budaya masyarakat Pandhalungan yang unik. Luaran dari penelitian ini berupa rancangan menara observasi yang berfungsi sebagai ikon kawasan dan pusat aktivitas wisata bahari. Menara ini dirancang dengan memadukan elemen arsitektur tradisional, seperti bentuk atap khas lokal, dengan material dan teknologi modern untuk menciptakan harmoni antara tradisi dan inovasi. Selain sebagai pusat observasi dan edukasi lingkungan laut, menara ini juga berperan sebagai katalis yang mendorong pengembangan kawasan Pantai Mayangan secara berkelanjutan.

Mayangan Beach, which has great potential as a marine tourism destination, requires integrated development to optimize the economic, social, and cultural value of the area. This study aims to implement the urban catalyst concept through marine tourism development, with a regionalism approach as the basis for design. The urban catalyst concept is applied to create a widespread positive impact, improve regional connectivity, and revive local activities based on culture and marine. Meanwhile, the regionalism approach ensures that the design maintains local identity, reflecting the unique cultural character of the Pandhalungan community. The output of this study is a design for an observation tower that functions as an icon of the area and a center for marine tourism activities. This tower is designed by combining traditional architectural elements, such as local roof shapes, with modern materials and technology to create harmony between tradition and innovation. In addition to being a center for marine environmental observation and education, this tower also acts as a catalyst that encourages the sustainable development of the Mayangan Beach area.
