Abstract

Penelitian ini mengembangkan model alokasi slot kapal peti kemas berbasis Revenue Management untuk menghadapi tantangan operasional dalam pelayaran peti kemas, khususnya dalam kondisi pasar yang fluktuatif dan permintaan yang tidak pasti. Model ini mempertimbangkan berbagai faktor penting seperti keterbatasan kapasitas kapal, kemungkinan pembatalan muatan, variasi bobot peti kemas, proporsi layanan (kontrak dan spot), proporsi masing-masing path serta proporsi masing masing periode. Strategi harga dinamis dan overbooking diintegrasikan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan fleksibilitas dalam pengelolaan slot kapal. Model ini dirancang untuk membantu perusahaan pelayaran dalam mengambil keputusan alokasi slot secara adaptif dengan memaksimalkan pendapatan dan utilisasi kapal. Strategi harga dinamis digunakan untuk menyesuaikan tarif berdasarkan perubahan komposisi permintaan, sedangkan overbooking diterapkan untuk mengantisipasi pembatalan pengiriman dan meningkatkan tingkat keterisian slot. Penyesuaian strategi alokasi juga dilakukan berdasarkan perbedaan karakteristik bobot peti kemas dan ukuran kapal. Penelitian ini didukung oleh pendekatan simulasi berbasis Monte Carlo untuk mengevaluasi performa model dalam berbagai skenario ketidakpastian. Simulasi dilakukan dengan memperhatikan kombinasi faktor-faktor strategis yang memengaruhi hasil operasional. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi harga dinamis secara konsisten menghasilkan pendapatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan strategi harga tetap, terutama saat terjadi perubahan signifikan dalam proporsi permintaan kontrak dan spot. Selain itu, strategi overbooking terbukti mampu mengompensasi kerugian akibat pembatalan muatan, dengan peningkatan utilisasi kapal secara signifikan. Variasi bobot peti kemas juga berdampak pada efisiensi pengangkutan, di mana alokasi muatan yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik kapal dapat memaksimalkan penggunaan kapasitas yang tersedia. Secara keseluruhan, model ini mampu meningkatkan kinerja operasional pelayaran dan berfungsi sebagai decision support tool yang efektif dalam menghadapi dinamika pasar.

This study develops a container ship slot allocation model based on Revenue Management to address operational challenges in container shipping, particularly under fluctuating market conditions and uncertain demand. The model considers various critical factors, including vessel capacity limitations, potential booking cancellations, container weight variations, service type proportions (contract and spot), path proportions, and period proportions. Dynamic pricing and overbooking strategies are integrated to enhance efficiency and flexibility in slot allocation management. The model is designed to assist shipping companies in making adaptive slot allocation decisions by maximizing revenue and vessel utilization. Dynamic pricing is applied to adjust rates based on changing demand compositions, while overbooking is implemented to anticipate cancellations and improve slot occupancy. Slot allocation strategies are also adjusted according to container weight characteristics and vessel sizes. This study is supported by a Monte Carlo simulation approach to evaluate the model’s performance under various uncertainty scenarios. Simulations are conducted by considering combinations of strategic factors that influence operational outcomes. Experimental results show that dynamic pricing consistently yields higher revenue than fixed pricing, especially under significant shifts in contract and spot demand proportions. Additionally, overbooking effectively offsets losses due to cancellations by significantly increasing vessel utilization. Variations in container weights also affect transport efficiency, where load allocation tailored to vessel characteristics can optimize capacity usage. Overall, the proposed model enhances operational performance in container shipping and serves as an effective decision support tool for navigating dynamic market environments.
