Abstract

North Maluku Traditional Fishermen currently are experiencing difficulties in catching fish in their own area, the increasing price of fuel makes the cost of fishing operations more expensive and large industrial-scale ships that are allowed to enter the area below 10 miles resulting in local fishermen losing the competition, therefore alternative ship designs other than traditional boats are needed to help local fishermen. The design of an electric fishing vessel that equipped will be one of the solutions to this problem. For the main engine, an electric outboard will help correspond the problem of expensive fuel costs when going to sea, and a battery accu will help the ship to provide electricity to the ship, the ship will also be equipped with a fish finder to help fishermen to find fish, the material that will be used for this boat is FRP to increase the efficiency of the ship and make it easier to maintain the ship. The methodology of this study combines the use of AutoCAD and Maxsurf software for ship design and for displacement, stability, trim, and freeboard calculations were carried out using Microsoft Excel. The resulting ship design meets technical analysis, which includes displacement, stability, trim, and freeboard. The designed ship has an overall length (LoA) of 13.15 meters, a breadth (B) of 2.98 meters, a height (H) of 1.51 meters, and a draft (T) of 0.60 meters, with a speed (VS) of 24 knots.
