Abstract
Dalam studi kasus ini, akan mengkaji tentang kerusakan retak dan spalling pada elemen struktur dinding dan pelat hopper bangunan silo yang menggunakan sistem struktur dinding beton prategang. Dalam beberapa kasus kegagalan bangunan silo yang telah terjadi, kerusakan silo dapat disebabkan oleh dua faktor utama yaitu : kesalahan desain dan ketidaksesuaian lapangan. Akibat kerusakan ini, silo harus mengurangi kapasitas penyimpanan hingga tidak dapat berfungsi optimal untuk menyimpan semen. Sehingga penelitian terhadap kerusakan elemen struktur dan investigasi pola kerusakan bangunan perlu dilakukan. Dilakukan evaluasi investigasi terkait dengan integritas ketahanan struktur melalui pemodelan elemen hingga (FEM) pada bangunan silo eksisting yang menjadi objek studi. Melalui pemodelan tersebut ditemukan bahwa terjadi ketidak mampuan elemen dinding akibat tegangan tendon eksisting dan elemen pelat hopper akibat beban operasional penampunan semen. Hasil evaluasi tersebut di validasi dengan kondisi kerusakan elemen struktur silo yang mengalami keretakan dan spalling di lapangan yang menandakan kapasitas tegangan yang dapat diterima elemen beton telah telah dilampaui. Dengan begitu di rekomendasikan melakukan perkuatan dan perbaikan struktur dengan metode penebalan pada dinding bagian atas setebal 150 mm dengan tambahan tulangan wiremesh M10-150 dan penambahan kolom support pada pelat hopper menggunakan kolom SPP 906.22. Melalui rekomendasi perbaikan ini, bangunan silo dapat mengembalikan operasional industry dalam silo dari status cautions atau tidak dapat beroperasi menjadi dapat beroperasi dengan kapasitas daya tamping sebesar 70%.

In this case study, an investigation is conducted into cracking and spalling damage on the structural elements of the wall and hopper slab in a silo building that utilizes a prestressed concrete wall system. In several instances of silo failure, damage has been attributed to two main factors: design errors and site discrepancies. Due to this damage, the silo must reduce its storage capacity and cannot function optimally for cement containment.
Therefore, structural element damage assessment and investigation into the building’s failure patterns are deemed necessary. A structural integrity evaluation is performed through Finite Element Modeling (FEM) on the existing silo structure used as the study object. The modeling reveals inadequate performance of the wall element caused by existing tendon stress, and of the hopper slab element due to operational loading during cement storage.
These findings are validated by the physical condition of the silo’s structural elements, which show cracking and spalling on site—indicating that the allowable stress capacity of the concrete has been exceeded. Consequently, structural strengthening and repair are recommended, including thickening the upper wall section by 150 mm with added wiremesh reinforcement M10-150, and installing support columns under the hopper slab using SPP 906.22 columns.
With this repair recommendation, the silo can resume industrial operations, transitioning from a cautionary or non-operational status to functioning at up to 70% of its original storage capacity.
