Abstract

Biji plastik jenis polypropylene merupakan senyawa polimer organik yang telah mengalami proses polimerisasi. Dalam memproduksi biji plastik untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kemasan dan sebagainya. Dalam proses produksi biji plastik membutuhkan sistem pendingin, maka terdapat scraper condensor sebagai media pendingin disana. Untuk mengalirkan fluida pendingin tersebut membutuhkan komponen pompa sentrifugal yang dapat memberikan energi tekanan pada energi pada fluida agar dapat mencapai aliran yang sesuai kebutuhan scraper condensor. Dalam proyek akhir ini bertujuan untuk memilih pompa sentrifugal yang sesuai kebutuhan produksi dan merancang impeller serta volute yang sesuai dengan standar API 610. Dalam tahapan proyek akhir ini adalah : 1) Menghitung Head efektif instalasi yang menggunakan metode analisi dan numerik dengan software Pipe Flow Expert 2) Pemilihan pompa dengan sesuai hasil dari perhitungan Head efektif dan putaran sepesifik 3) Perancangan impeller menggunakan metode pelukisan sudut circular arc dimana dilakukan sesuai perhitungan terhadap lingkaran konsentris 4) Perancangan Volute pompa 5) Perancangan pasak dan bantalan. Sehingga penelitian proyek akhir ini pada hasil perhitungan analitis didapat Head efektif instalasi (H eff) sebesar 59,200 m dengan kapasitas 120 m^3/jam untuk fluida kerja Ethylene Glycol, dengan perbandingan Head hasil numerik 59,525 m, maka direkomendasikan pompa sentrifugal dengan tipe EBARA FS2JA 100 X 80 yang memiliki kapasitas 120 m^3/jam, Head 59,200 m, putaran 2900 rpm. Rancangan impeller yang sesuai didapat tipe moderate specific speed impeller, dengan diameter outlet 232 mm, diameter inlet 116 mm, dan jumlah sudu 8.

Polypropylene plastic pellets are organic polymer compounds that have undergone a polymerization process. PT. Indora produces plastic pellets to meet packaging needs and so on. In the production process of plastic pellets requires a cooling system, so there is a scraper condenser as a cooling medium there. To flow the cooling fluid requires a centrifugal pump component that can provide pressure energy to the energy in the fluid in order to achieve the flow according to the needs of the scraper condenser. In this final project aims to select a centrifugal pump that suits production needs and design an impeller and volute that comply with API 610 standards. In this final project stage are: 1) Calculating the effective Head of the installation using analytical and numerical methods with Pipe Flow Expert software 2) Selecting a pump according to the results of the calculation of the effective Head and specific rotation 3) Designing the impeller using the circular arc angle drawing method which is carried out according to calculations on concentric circles 4) Designing the pump Volute 5) Designing pins and bearings. So that this final project research based on the results of analytical calculations obtained the effective installation Head (Heff) of 59,200 m with a capacity of 120 m^3/hours for the working fluid Ethylene Glycol then recommended centrifugal pump with type EBARA FS2JA 100X80 which has a capacity 120 m^3/hours, head 59,200 m, rotation of 2900 rpm. The appropriate impeller design obtained is a moderate specific speed impeller type, with an outlet diameter of 232 mm, an inlet diameter of 116 mm, and a number of blades of 8.
