Abstract

Perkembanngan kota Yogyakarta yang dinamis senantiasa membentuk identitas unik pada setiap sudutnya. Identitas ini terwujud dalam beragam aktivitas, suasana, kondisi lingkungan, dan bentang alam yang khas sehingga mampu memberikan pengalaman kepada manusia terhadap suatu tempat. Perkembangan ini menjadi ancaman terhadap esensi bangunan bersejarah yang dulunya merupakan pusat peradaban, salah satunya Pasar Legi Kotagede. Dengan adanya dinamika perkembangan kota yang modern, elemen audiovisual menjadi ciri khas yang paling melekat pada esensi bangunan sehingga memiliki peran penting dalam pembentukan sense of place.
Untuk mempertahankan sense of place tersebut, kini elemen audio yang memilki kearifan perlu dipertahankan melalui soundscape. Hal ini bertujuan untuk melestarikan nilai pada bangunan konservasi yang kaya akan elemen suara menjadi sebuah kesatuan yang koheren dalam skala ruang publik yang baru. Pendekatan metode redesain digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengekstrak elemen-elemen kunci yang dapat diterjemahkan menjadi elemen arsitektural. Elemen-elemen seperti pengaturan tata letak ruang, material, skala, dan pembentukan massa akan dimanipulasi untuk menciptakan pengalaman spasial. Redesain asitektur yang dihasilkan mampu menghidupkan sense of place terhadap bangunan cagar budaya dan juga mampu merangsang aktivitas baru melalui soundscape.

The dynamic civilization of the city of Yogyakarta always forms a unique identity in every corner. This identity is manifested in a variety of activities, atmospheres, environmental conditions, and distinctive landscapes so that it is able to provide human experience of a place. This development is a threat to the essence of historical buildings that were once the center of civilization, one of which is the Legi Kotagede Market. With the dynamics of modern city development, audiovisual elements are the most inherent characteristics of the essence of buildings so that they have an important role in forming a sense of place.
To maintain this sense of place, now audio elements that have wisdom need to be maintained through the soundscape. This aims to preserve the value of conservation buildings that are rich in sound elements into a coherent unity on the scale of the new public space. The redesign method approach is used to identify and extract key elements that can be translated into architectural elements. Elements such as spatial layout arrangements, materials, scale, and mass formation will be manipulated to create a spatial experience. The resulting architectural redesign is able to revive the sense of place for cultural heritage buildings and is also able to stimulate new activities through soundscapes.
