Abstract

Pemanasan global yang disebabkan oleh emisi gas CO2 dari aktivitas transportasi menjadi salah satu isu lingkungan yang mendesak, terutama di kawasan perkotaan padat lalu lintas seperti Surabaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan arahan penyediaan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH) pada Koridor Jl. Ahmad Yani, Surabaya, guna mengurangi emisi CO2 yang dihasilkan oleh kendaraan bermotor. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan perhitungan matematis menggunakan perangkat lunak COPERT 5.8 untuk menghitung emisi CO2 dari aktivitas transportasi di koridor tersebut. Selain itu, kemampuan penyerapan CO2 oleh tanaman yang berada di RTH eksisting pun dihitung agar didapatkan berapa besar kontribusi RTH terhadap penurunan emisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa emisi CO2 yang dihasilkan di koridor Jl. Ahmad Yani berada pada 289.474,72 ton per tahun, sedangkan daya serap RTH eksisting hanya sebesar 26.958,54 ton per tahun, jadi masih terdapat defisit emisi berupa 262.516,18 ton per tahun. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menyajikan beberapa alternatif pengembangan RTH untuk menurunkan defisit emisi, yaitu dengan aplikasi vertical garden, optimalisasi jalur hijau, jalan pedestrian, dan penghijauan di bawah jalan layang. Penambahan RTH yang direncanakan ini bisa menyerap sebanyak 2.080,527 ton per tahun, sehingga masih terdapat defisit sebesar 260.435,65 ton CO₂ per tahun. Rekomendasi tambahan, termasuk skema Carbon Offset, Green Incentive, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), dan Public–Private Partnership (PPP) juga disimpankan untuk mendukung pelaksanaan pengurangan emisi berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berfungsi sebagai referensi bagi perencanaan kota berkelanjutan dan lingkungan di Surabaya.

Global warming caused by CO₂ emissions from transportation activities has become a critical environmental issue, particularly in densely trafficked urban areas such as Surabaya. This study aims to formulate strategies for providing Green Open Spaces (GOS) along the Ahmad Yani Corridor in Surabaya to mitigate CO₂ emissions from motorized vehicles. A quantitative research method was applied, employing mathematical calculations with COPERT 5.8 software to estimate CO₂ emissions from transportation activities within the corridor. Additionally, the CO₂ absorption capacity of existing vegetation in GOS was calculated to determine the contribution of these green spaces in emission reduction. The results indicated that CO₂ emissions in the Ahmad Yani Corridor reached approximately 289.474,72 tons per year, while the existing GOS could only absorb 26,889.31 tons annually, leaving a deficit of 262.516,18 tons per year. Thus, the study proposes several alternative GOS development strategies to address the emission deficit, including the implementation of vertical gardens, optimization of green belts, pedestrian pathways, and greening beneath flyovers. These planned additions could absorb an additional 2,080.527 tons of CO₂ per year, still resulting in a remaining deficit of 260.435,65 tons of CO₂ annually. Additional recommendations, such as the Carbon Offset scheme, Green Incentives, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Public–Private Partnerships (PPP), are also suggested to support sustainable emission reduction initiatives. This research is expected to serve as a valuable reference for sustainable urban and environmental planning in Surabaya.
