Abstract

Di era globalisasi dan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi, kebutuhan akan energi listrik meningkat signifikan sebagai penunjang utama aktivitas masyarakat dan industri. Hal ini menuntut ketersediaan sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang profesional dan kompeten, terutama di sektor energi. Pendidikan tinggi berperan penting dalam mempersiapkan SDM tersebut melalui penguasaan teori dan pengalaman praktik. Kegiatan magang menjadi sarana strategis untuk menghubungkan teori akademik dengan realitas dunia kerja. Program magang yang dijalankan oleh mahasiswa Departemen Statistika Bisnis, Fakultas Vokasi Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, bertujuan untuk mengaplikasikan ilmu statistik secara langsung dalam lingkungan industri. PLN Nusantara Power Up Gresik dipilih sebagai tempat magang karena perannya yang vital dalam penyediaan energi listrik di wilayah Gresik dan sekitarnya, serta komitmennya terhadap efisiensi dan inovasi berbasis data. Melalui magang ini, mahasiswa memperoleh pengalaman nyata dalam pengelolaan data operasional, analisis kinerja, dan pengambilan keputusan berbasis data. Pengalaman ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kompetensi teknis dan non-teknis mahasiswa, tetapi juga memperkuat kesiapan mereka dalam menghadapi dunia kerja yang kompetitif. Diharapkan, magang ini dapat menjadi langkah nyata dalam mencetak lulusan yang unggul dan relevan dengan kebutuhan industri, khususnya di sektor energi.

In the era of globalization and rapid technological advancement, the demand for electricity as a primary resource supporting societal and industrial activities continues to rise. This condition necessitates the development of professional and competent human resources (HR), particularly in the energy sector, to effectively face challenges and competition in the workforce. Higher education plays a crucial role in preparing such HR by providing a strong theoretical foundation. However, theoretical knowledge alone is insufficient without hands-on practical experience. Internship programs serve as a vital bridge between academic learning and real-world application. The internship undertaken by students of the Business Statistics Department, Vocational Faculty, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, aims to implement statistical knowledge in real industrial contexts. PLN Nusantara Power Up Gresik, a key provider and manager of electricity in the Gresik region, offers an ideal environment for such internships due to its strategic role and commitment to innovation and operational efficiency. Through this internship, students gain direct experience in managing operational data, monitoring performance, and conducting data-driven analysis and decision-making. This experience enhances both technical and soft skills, strengthening students’ readiness to enter the professional world. It is expected that this internship will serve as a comprehensive learning platform to produce graduates who are competitive and capable of contributing significantly to the energy sector.
