Abstract

Proxemic theory, introduced by Edward T. Hall, reveals how physical distance and body position affect communication and social interaction, influenced by a person's culture. More than just a measurement of distance, Proxemics is dynamic, adapting to the context and role of the individual in the social space. Categories of intrapersonal distance, from whispers to shouts, map human interactions, and the concept is applied to create spaces that facilitate optimal social interaction. In the context of architecture, Proxemics can offer a unique approach to designing spaces. One of them is in designing the Digital Library, which accommodates various social preferences and literacy activities, creating a harmonious environment for interaction without invading privacy by using territoriality as a boundary for engagement with each other.Proxemic theory, introduced by Edward T.
