Abstract

Arsitektur merupakan disiplin yang terus beradaptasi terhadap kompleksitas kebutuhan pengguna, konteks lingkungan, dan dinamika sosial yang terus berkembang. Laporan ini mencakup dua proyek perancangan arsitektur yang berbeda sebagai bagian dari proses pembelajaran dalam Program Pendidikan Profesi Arsitek (PPAr), sekaligus menjadi media penerapan 13 butir kompetensi arsitek yang ditetapkan oleh Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI). Proyek pertama merupakan perancangan rumah tinggal dua lantai yang terintegrasi dengan klinik bersalin mandiri di lingkungan hunian padat di Asahan. Tantangan utama dari proyek ini adalah bagaimana menghadirkan kenyamanan ruang tinggal sekaligus ruang praktik kesehatan yang fungsional, higienis, serta memiliki batasan privasi yang jelas antara fungsi publik dan privat. Pendekatan desain diarahkan pada pemaksimalan potensi tapak untuk menghasilkan desain yang hemat energi dan terjangkau serta memiliki dampak positif terhadap lingkungan. Proyek kedua dilakukan melalui studio off-campus bersama PT. Handal Natsa Kedhaton (HNK Architects), berupa perancangan kantor dan gudang PT. Darmawangsa Medical Supplies, sebuah distributor alat ortopedi. Bangunan dirancang dengan mempertimbangkan efisiensi operasional, sistem sirkulasi barang dan pengguna, serta kebutuhan khusus seperti ruang CSSD. Proses perancangan dilakukan secara kolaboratif dalam tim multidisiplin dan mengikuti tahapan proyek arsitektur profesional, mulai dari pemahaman kebutuhan klien, penyusunan konsep, hingga pengembangan desain teknis. Melalui kedua proyek yang dirancang dengan mengacu pada 13 butir kompetensi arsitek, diharapkan dapat menjadi landasan dalam menjalani praktik profesional arsitektur di masa depan. Penerapan prinsip-prinsip tersebut tidak hanya memperkuat pemahaman terhadap kaidah-kaidah arsitektur, tetapi juga mendorong terciptanya karya yang berdampak positif bagi masyarakat, lingkungan, dan dunia secara luas.

Architecture is a discipline that continuously adapts to the complexity of user needs, environmental context, and ever-evolving social dynamics. This report presents two distinct architectural design projects as part of the learning process in the Professional Program for Architects (PPAr), while also serving as a medium to apply the 13 architectural competencies established by the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI). The first project involves the design of a two-story residential house integrated with an independent maternity clinic, located in a densely populated residential area in Asahan. The main challenge of this project lies in providing both a comfortable living space and a functional, hygienic healthcare facility with clear privacy boundaries between public and private functions. The design approach focuses on maximizing the site’s potential to produce an energy-efficient, cost-effective design that also has a positive environmental impact. The second project was conducted through an off-campus studio in collaboration with PT. Handal Natsa Kedhaton (HNK Architects), and involves the design of an office and warehouse for PT. Darmawangsa Medical Supplies, a medical equipment distributor specializing in orthopedic tools. The building is designed with consideration for operational efficiency, circulation systems for goods and users, and specific functional needs such as a CSSD room. The design process was carried out collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and followed the phases of a professional architectural project, from understanding client needs and developing concepts to technical design development. Through these two projects, which refer to the 13 architectural competencies, the experience is expected to serve as a foundation for engaging in professional architectural practice in the future. The application of these principles not only enhances understanding of architectural standards but also encourages the creation of works that positively impact society, the environment, and the world at large.
