Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan memvalidasi desain panel sandwich dengan variasi U-beam corrugated core untuk aplikasi struktur kapal tugboat. Tiga variasi desain dengan sudut core berbeda, yaitu 66°, 72°, dan 88°, dianalisis menggunakan metode elemen hingga dan dibandingkan dengan hasil pengujian eksperimen untuk menentukan konfigurasi yang paling optimal. Analisis difokuskan pada perbandingan nilai tegangan lentur maksimum dan tingkat kesesuaian antara simulasi numerik dan data eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Variasi 2 dengan sudut core 72° memiliki kesesuaian terbaik antara hasil simulasi dan eksperimen, dengan deviasi yang konsisten dan kecil, berkisar antara 2% hingga 4,8%. Sebaliknya, Variasi 1 dengan sudut 66° menunjukkan deviasi yang signifikan, dengan eror mencapai 23%, sementara Variasi 3 dengan sudut 88° memiliki rentang eror antara 5,1% hingga 6,5%. Meskipun Variasi 2 dan 3 secara eksperimental menunjukkan kekuatan yang tinggi, Variasi 2 terbukti menjadi desain yang paling optimal, baik dari segi kesesuaian data eksperimen maupun simulasi numerik, serta memiliki tegangan lentur terendah yaitu 280,64 MPa.

This study aims to analyze and validate the design of sandwich panels with U-beam corrugated core variations for tugboat ship structure applications. Three design variations with different core angles of 66°, 72°, and 88° were analyzed using the finite element method and compared with experimental test results to determine the most optimal configuration. The analysis focused on comparing the maximum bending stress values and the degree of agreement between numerical simulations and experimental data. The research findings show that Variation 2 with a core angle of 72° exhibited the best agreement between simulation and experimental results, with consistent and small deviations ranging from 2% to 4,8%. In contrast, Variation 1 with a core angle of 66° showed significant deviation, with errors reaching 23%, while Variation 3 with a core angle of 88° had error ranges from 5,1% to 6,5%. Although Variations 1 and 2 experimentally demonstrated high strength, Variation 2 proved to be the most optimal design, both in terms of the consistency of the data and the numerical simulations, as it exhibited the lowest bending stress of 280,64 MPa.
