Abstract

Piping systems play a vital role as fluid transportation channels across various industrial sectors, such as palm oil processing, chemical manufacturing, and others. In the Piping ISBL 5 Plant Building project by PT. Citra Adi Sarana, the Fabrication and Erection processes are identified as critical stages influencing the success of the piping system. Fabrication includes cutting, forming, welding, and quality testing to ensure the integrity of the pipes, while Erection focuses on the installation of components at the project site with consideration for spatial efficiency and safety. This study analyzes the application of project management techniques, such as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Critical Path Method (CPM), to optimize time, cost, and work quality. Risk management strategies are also applied to anticipate challenges such as supply delays, quality control issues, and on-site technical constraints. The findings show that effective coordination, strict quality supervision, and efficient cost planning are key success factors, supported by the design of a project management system and Fabrication planning. Activities are sequenced by estimating work durations, determining manpower needs, and preparing cost budgets. Overall, this final project demonstrates that the implementation of project management, cost control, quality assurance, and work safety can significantly support the successful execution of industrial piping projects.
