Abstract

Operasi penarikan kapal menggunakan tugboat merupakan aktivitas penting dalam dunia pelayaran, di mana struktur towing hook berperan sebagai komponen dalam menerima gaya tarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kekuatan struktur towing hook pada tugboat terhadap variasi load case penarikan barge dan ketebalan kupingan towing hook menggunakan metode elemen hingga. Simulasi dilakukan dalam dua tahap yaitu simulasi penarikan barge menggunakan Ansys AQWA dan simulasi struktur towing hook menggunakan Ansys Static Structural. Empat variasi load case yang dianalisis meliputi sudut tarikan 0°, 45°, kondisi trim by stern, dan trim by bow dengan variasi ketebalan kupingan towing hook sebesar 20 mm, 22 mm, dan 24 mm. Hasil menunjukkan gaya tarik tertinggi terjadi pada kondisi trim by bow sebesar 241,584 kN, sedangkan tegangan maksimum yang dihasilkan masih berada di bawah batas izin BKI. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa struktur towing hook memiliki desain struktural yang kuat untuk menghadapi beberapa kondisi operasional.

Towing operations using tugboats are critical activities in maritime operations, where the towing hook structure functions as a key component in receiving towing forces. This study aims to analyze the structural strength of the towing hook on a tugboat under various load cases during barge towing operations, as well as different lug plate thicknesses, using the finite element method. The simulation is conducted in two stages: barge towing simulation using Ansys AQWA and structural analysis of the towing hook using Ansys Static Structural. Four load case variations are analyzed, including towing angles of 0°, 45°, trim by stern, and trim by bow, with lug plate thickness variations of 20 mm, 22 mm, and 24 mm. The results show that the highest towing force occurs under the trim by bow condition, reaching 241.584 kN, while the maximum stress remains below the allowable limit specified by BKI. This study demonstrates that the towing hook structure possesses adequate structural strength to withstand various operational conditions.
