Abstract

dibandingkan cast in situ.
proyek.

The selection of construction methods for substructure works such as box culverts and
underpasses significantly influences project efficiency in terms of time and cost. This study
compares two construction methods—cast in situ and precast—within the scope of the 13 km
Probowangi Toll Road project, which includes 86 work points. The analysis results reveal
that the precast method offers a considerable time advantage, requiring an average of 30
days for box underpasses and 14 days for box culverts, compared to 50 and 25 days
respectively for the cast in situ method. In total, the precast approach completes all works in
400 days, which is 111 days (or 22%) faster than the cast in situ method. However, this time
efficiency
comes with higher costs, with precast construction estimated at
Rp.998.481.311.415,4. compared to Rp.905.899.425.417,7. f for cast in situ. Furthermore, not
all locations are suitable for precast implementation due to specific technical requirements
such as mini pile installation, making the cast in situ method more appropriate in certain
conditions. Therefore, selecting the appropriate construction method requires a balanced
consideration of project duration, budget efficiency, and on-site technical constraints to
ensure optimal outcomes.
