Abstract

Rancangan bangunan kos mahasiswa di Rungkut, Surabaya, dan Masjid 89 di Tulangan, Sidoarjo. Proyek Kos Rungkut dirancang untuk mengakomodasi kebutuhan hunian mahasiswa sekaligus mendukung aktivitas usaha dengan menghadirkan kafe di lantai dasar. Desainnya mengusung gaya industrial dengan penekanan pada kesederhanaan material, ekspresi struktur, dan efisiensi biaya konstruksi. Permasalahan tapak seperti kondisi tanah bekas rawa, bangunan sekitar, serta kebutuhan ventilasi silang diatasi melalui strategi penataan ruang, pencahayaan alami, dan penerapan standar bangunan hijau. Masjid 89 dirancang sebagai fasilitas ibadah yang merespons konteks lingkungan dan sosial di sekitarnya, termasuk keberadaan sungai dan kawasan permukiman. Desain masjid mengintegrasikan ruang terbuka, strategi pendinginan pasif, serta bukaan visual melalui penggunaan roster yang memberikan pencahayaan dan sirkulasi alami. Proses perancangan kedua proyek ini menekankan pada respons terhadap konteks tapak, kepatuhan terhadap regulasi, keberlanjutan lingkungan, serta kualitas ruang yang berpusat pada kenyamanan pengguna.

The design involves a student boarding house in Rungkut, Surabaya, and Masjid 89 in Tulangan, Sidoarjo. The Rungkut boarding house project is intended to accommodate student housing needs while also supporting business activities by incorporating a café on the ground floor. The design adopts an industrial style, emphasizing material simplicity, structural expression, and construction cost efficiency. Site issues such as former swamp soil conditions, surrounding buildings, and the need for cross ventilation are addressed through spatial planning strategies, natural lighting, and the application of green building standards. Masjid 89 is designed as a place of worship that responds to its environmental and social context, including proximity to a river and surrounding residential areas. The mosque’s design integrates open spaces, passive cooling strategies, and visual openings through the use of ventilation blocks (roster) to provide natural lighting and airflow. The design process for both projects emphasizes contextual responsiveness, compliance with regulations, environmental sustainability, and spatial quality focused on user comfort.
