Abstract
The durability and performance of welded structures are profoundly influenced by residual stress and fatigue life, particularly within industries such as aerospace, automotive, and construction. This study explores the impact of various treatment methodologies on welded steel, with a specific focus on 304L Stainless Steel, aiming to enhance its robustness and longevity. Various tests were conducted to assess the effects of treatments such as parallel heating, vibration stress relief, and shot peening on welded steel. These tests encompassed preparatory procedures, welding, shaping through cutting, and subsequent testing to evaluate structural integrity under stress conditions. The findings revealed the paramount importance of ensuring complete weld penetration for structural integrity maintenance. Additionally, it was observed that treatments like vibration stress relief and shot peening contributed to stress reduction within the welded steel, thereby bolstering its resilience. Furthermore, synergistic effects were observed upon combining these treatments, resulting in further improvements. This study offers practical insights for engineers regarding strategies to prolong the lifespan of welded structures. It is anticipated that these findings will facilitate the development of safer and more reliable welded structures in the future.

Keandalan dan kinerja struktur las sangat dipengaruhi oleh tegangan sisa dan umur lelah, khususnya dalam industri kedirgantaraan, otomotif, dan konstruksi. Studi ini mengkaji dampak berbagai metode perlakuan pada baja las, dengan fokus pada Stainless Steel 304L, untuk meningkatkan kekuatan dan masa pakainya. Beragam pengujian dilakukan guna menilai efek pemanasan paralel, pelepasan tegangan getar, dan shot peening pada baja las. Uji tersebut mencakup prosedur persiapan, pengelasan, pembentukan melalui pemotongan, serta pengujian lanjutan untuk mengevaluasi integritas struktural di bawah kondisi tegangan. Hasil penelitian menegaskan pentingnya memastikan penetrasi las sempurna demi menjaga integritas struktur. Selain itu, perlakuan pelepasan tegangan getar dan shot peening terbukti menurunkan tegangan sisa dalam baja las, sehingga meningkatkan ketahanannya. Efek sinergis juga terlihat ketika perlakuan-perlakuan tersebut digabungkan, menghasilkan peningkatan lebih lanjut. Studi ini memberikan wawasan praktis bagi para insinyur mengenai strategi untuk memperpanjang umur struktur las dan diharapkan dapat mendorong pengembangan struktur las yang lebih aman dan andal di masa depan.
