Abstract

This research presents the design and implementation of an integrated alcohol management application that combines goal setting, location tracking, and behavioral intervention features. The system addresses excessive alcohol consumption among young adults through a comprehensive mobile solution built with React Native, Expo Framework, and NestJS backend architecture with Azure SQL Database integration. Key features include manual consumption tracking with location logging, customizable weekly drinking goals, real-time push notifications for limit alerts, and location-based alternative activity recommendations. The application employs a gamified reward system to encourage positive behavior modification and provides comprehensive analytics through a performance dashboard. The development follows an agile methodology with iterative user testing to ensure effective user experience and secure data handling. The system demonstrates successful integration of location-aware services with personalized intervention mechanisms, showing promising results in supporting users' alcohol management goals while maintaining social engagement. This research contributes to mobile health applications by providing a framework for context-aware behavioral intervention systems that combine location intelligence, goal management, and gamification strategies for effective health behavior modification.
