Abstract

A water flow distribution simulator has been designed in the DTINS building of the ITS Vocational Faculty as a way to monitor water consumption. This study designed and built a digital flow meter monitoring system with a system consisting of the LoRa (Long Range) communication protocol, an ESP32 microcontroller, and a DN25 1" YF-G1 sensor to measure water flow rates accurately and energy-efficiently. This system is designed to record the volume of water used from the DTINS rooftop reservoir to various distribution points with dashboard-based monitoring. Test results show a sensor accuracy level with an average error of 2.32%, which is still within the tolerance limit and indicates feasibility for operational use. With an informative dashboard display and real-time data integration capabilities, this system is able to visualize water consumption trends and detect potential waste in real time. The implementation of this system has the potential to strengthen water management efficiency and serve as an important reference in the development of similar monitoring solutions on campus or other public facilities. This research proves that technology in water resource management is not only possible but also urgently needs to be implemented more widely to support environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.
