Abstract

Perawatan mesin merupakan faktor penting dalam menjaga kinerja dan umur pakai suatu unit kendaraan berat. Unit TF 272 Type Volvo 440 FMX merupakan kendaraan operasional dengan beban kerja tinggi yang membutuhkan sistem pemeliharaan terencana untuk meminimalisir kerusakan mendadak dan downtime. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan metode preventive maintenance berbasis periodical service pada unit tersebut dengan mengacu pada interval waktu dan jam kerja operasional. Metode yang digunakan meliputi identifikasi komponen kritis, penyusunan jadwal pemeliharaan, serta pencatatan riwayat perawatan untuk analisis tren kerusakan. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan bahwa penerapan preventive maintenance mampu meningkatkan keandalan unit, menekan biaya perbaikan tidak terencana, serta memperpanjang usia pakai komponen utama. Dengan demikian, program perawatan berkala dapat dijadikan strategi efektif dalam mendukung produktivitas dan efisiensi operasional unit Volvo 440 FMX.

Machine maintenance is a crucial factor in ensuring the performance and service life of heavy-duty vehicles. The TF 272 Volvo 440 FMX unit is an operational vehicle with a high workload that requires a well-planned maintenance system to minimize unexpected failures and downtime. This study aims to implement a preventive maintenance method based on periodical service for the unit, referring to operating hours and service intervals. The method includes identifying critical components, scheduling maintenance activities, and recording service history for failure trend analysis. The results indicate that the implementation of preventive maintenance improves unit reliability, reduces unplanned repair costs, and extends the lifespan of major components. Therefore, periodical service can be considered an effective strategy to support the productivity and operational efficiency of the Volvo 440 FMX unit.
