Abstract

The Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya campus has since 2011 implemented a commitment to carry out the ITS eco campus which has now turned into an ITS smart eco campus, making the campus area an environmentally friendly area and a place for plant conservation. ITS eco campus also supports the Surabaya City government to realize it as a Green City, namely making efforts to realize Surabaya City as a Green City, one of which is through the provision of green open space (RTH). RTH (Green Open Space) is a space that contains plants or vegetation in urban areas that provide environmentalbenefits, namely by planting plants. Plants are said to be healthy if they can carry out their physiological functions. The presence of air pollution, human activities, biological factors and the increasing age of trees in ITS FSDA can lead to a decline in tree health. The decline in tree health can be seen from the level of damage. Assessment of tree damage can be done using Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) techniques. This study was conducted to identify the number and distribution of tree health levels around the ITS FSDA. The research conducted is descriptive using an inventory with the roaming method. The health status of the trees on the ITS FSDA campus which was studied showed that the condition had suffered minor damage. This is because the number of trees that have light damage dominates as many as 29 trees. The results obtained from this tree severity class were 18 healthy trees (30%), lightly damaged trees 29 trees (48.3%), moderately damaged trees 7 (11.7%), heavily damaged 6 trees (10%).
