Abstract
Proses pengembangan ekonomi dipegang andil oleh sektor pertanian. Tingginya angka peralihan fungsi lahan pertanian ke lahan non pertanian emnyebabkan semakin menurunnya kualias tanaman pangan dan menurun drastis stok pangan di Kota Surabaya. Pangan merupakan kebutuhan dasar manusia yang paling utama. Apabila kesediaan pangan ini tidak dapat terpenuhi, maka akan terjadi krisis pangan. Dengan adanya konsep program ‘Urban Farming’ atau pertanian kota inilah yang akan membantu permasalahan pangan dan juga dapat menjadi suatu wadah sosial untuk kegiatan interaksi sosial warganya. Peningkatan metode pertanian di Kota Surabaya semakin berkembang pesat.Rekayasa metode pertanian seperti aquaponik dan hidroponik semakin marak khususnya pemanfaatannya di lahan yang cukup kecil atau bahkan terbilang sempit. Metode ini cukup bisa mengembalikan strategi ketahanan pangan yang dicanangkan oleh Pemerintah Kota Surabaya. Agar masyarakat Indonesia mengerti akan perkembangan teknologi pertanian tersebut dan juga penyediaan hunian bagi petani sebagai tenaga kerja maka diperlukan adanya objek arsitektur yang menyediakan dan memberi informasi kepada masyarakat mengenai perkembangan teknologi pertanian, berupa bangunan vertical farming dengan hunian compound house bagi petani.. Perancangan menggunakan pendekatan eco- architecture untuk merespon terhdap lingkungan sekitar yang terdampak dengan adanya kawasan industri. Rancangan ini merupakan fasilitas yang menggabungkan fungsi ruang publik berbasis komersil, edukasi dan juga komunitas di sekitar. Program utama adalah penyediaan area tanam agar warganya bisa menghasilkan pangan sendiri mulai dari buah dan sayur. Rancangan ini juga mengajarkan masyarakat untuk hidup berdampingan dan juga menjadi lebih produktif.

Food is the most basic human need. If this food supply cannot be fulfilled, there will be a food crisis. With the concept of the 'Urban Farming' program or urban agriculture, this will help with food problems and can also become a social forum for social interaction activities of its citizens. Improvement of agricultural methods in the city of Surabaya is growing rapidly. Engineering agricultural methods such as aquaponics and hydroponics are increasingly widespread, especially their use in relatively small or even narrow areas. This method is sufficient to restore the food security strategy launched by the Surabaya City Government. In order for the Indonesian people to understand the development of agricultural technology and also the provision of housing for farmers as workers, it is necessary to have an architectural object that provides and provides information to the public about the development of agricultural technology, in the form of vertical farming buildings with compound house dwellings for farmers. The design uses an approach eco-architecture to respond to the surrounding environment affected by the industrial area. This design is a facility that combines the functions of public spaces based on commercial, education and also the surrounding community. The main program is the provision of planting areas so that residents can produce their own food, starting from fruits and vegetables. This design also teaches people to live side by side and also to be more productive
