Abstract

Kuliner merupakan salah satu sektor pariwisata dengan pemasukan terbesar di Indonesia. Pencapaian tersebut berperan dalam membangun identitas nasional berkaitan dengan diplomasi gastronomi yaitu gastrodiplomasi. Dibalik kuatnya fondasi yang ada, isu gastrodiplomasi ke dalam negeri tergolong minim, berdampak pada kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat akan lima kuliner Indonesia yang terpilih sebagai ikon gastrodiplomasi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sebuah langkah strategis untuk membantu menggencarkan isu terkait, diantaranya adalah memanfaatkan media video sebagai media edukasi nonformal melalui Youtube yang marak digunakan di era digital. Perancangan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap penelitian. Riset dilakukan dengan studi literatur, kuisioner, dan in-depth interview dengan Kuliner, Kriya, Desain dan Fesyen Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif Republik Indonesia. Dilanjutkan tahap eksperimental untuk eksplorasi materi dan menentukan konsep desain. Proses pembuatan video dicapai melalui tahap pra-produksi, produksi, dan pasca-produksi, serta melakukan wawancara kepada ahli serta user testing sebagai arahan perancangan. Tujuan dari perancangan adalah membantu mengenalkan, menambah pemahaman serta membuka pemikiran masyarakat akan isu gastrodiplomasi di Indonesia. Konten utama yang diangkat adalah kisah dibalik terpilihnya setiap ikon kuliner gastrodiplomasi Indonesia. Media ditujukan kepada generasi Z sebagai usia dengan kecakapan tinggi dalam ranah digital yang dapat mengomunikasikan isu kepada masyarakat. Luaran berupa sebuah video illustrative motion graphic yang dapat diakses melalui Youtube.

Culinary is one of Indonesia's biggest tourism income sources. This achievement plays a major role in building national identity that is related to gastronomic diplomacy, known as gastrodiplomacy. Beneath the strong existing foundation, it was a pity that the issue known by people inside the country is relatively minimum, due to a lack of knowledge about the five Indonesian specialties that have been chosen as gastrodiplomacy icons. Therefore, a strategic step is needed to intensify the related issues, which can be achieved by designing a video as nonformal educational medium that is widely used on Youtube by people among the digital era. The design proceeded through certain methods. The research conducted by literature study, questionnaires and in-depth interview with Culinary, Craft, Design and Fashion stakeholders of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Republic of Indonesia. Followed by the experimental phase to explore comprehensively and determine the design concept. The process achieved through pre-production, production and post-production stages, as well as user testing and expert interview as design directions. The purpose is to introduce, increase understanding and open the public minds of gastrodiplomacy issues in Indonesia. The main content is telling the stories behind each of Indonesian culinary icon. Media aimed at Z generation as an age has a high impact in digital era to help communicate to the public. The output is an illustrative motion graphic video that can be accessed via video platform such as Youtube.
