Abstract

During this COVID-19 period, several entertainment venues in Surabaya have closed. The percentage of tourists dropped and the place was abandoned. This triggers a “negative image” and creates a stigma where tourists “do not last long”. Economic, social and the surrounding environment also declined. Placemaking is one way to these places. It becomes an icon of the identity and attachment of the place. It also affects the user experience. Creative Space is a response that could be possible for the City of Surabaya. From habits to become a place for creative actors. This final project produces a design object that becomes a meeting point & interaction, cultural experience also supports the creative & local economy.
