Abstract
Menara pendingin sebagai salah satu alat penukar panas yang sering digunakan dalam suatu siklus refrigerasi dengan tujuan untuk menekan pemakaian jumlah air pendingin dari siklus refrigerasi tersebut. Pemahaman terhadap menara pendingin kurang maksimal, mengingat keterbatasan kajiannya baik dalam mata kuliah perpindahan panas, maupun teknik pendingin. Pemilihan penggunaan perangkat lunak sebagai alat bantu Pengajaran menjadi pilihan yang tepat karena perangkat lunak dapat membantu memahami lebih cepat dan dapat menghemat waktu untuk menyelesaikan perhitungan yang panjang, pengelolaan database, serta proses iterasi yang berulang-ulang. Untuk itu dibuatlah suatu perangkat lunak sederhana yang di dalamnya terdapat simulasi perhitungan properties, proses perpindahan panas, analisa geometri, visualisasi model sistem dan analisa proses. Alur pembuatan Perangkat Lunak ini melewati beberapa tahapan, antara lain : study literature, perancangan sistem, proses pengerjaan dan evaluasi yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui performance dari perangkat lunak tersebut. Dalam perancangan, agar perangkat lunak ini mudah dipahami dan lebih atraktif, pemilihan dan penyusunannya terbagi menjadi tiga form, yaitu form input, form perhitungan dan form datasheet. Perangk.at lunak ini dibuat dengan menggunakan Bahasa Pemrograman Delphi7. Pada program ini dilakukan perhitungan dengan variasi input arah aliran (crossflow, counterflow), berbagai pilihan tipe deck, untuk mendapatkan berbagai macam pilihan konstruksi dari menara pendingin

Cooling towers are one of the heat exchangers often used in a refrigeration cycle with the aim of reducing the use of the amount of cooling water from the refrigeration cycle. Understanding of cooling towers is less than optimal, considering the limitations of its study both in heat transfer courses, and refrigeration engineering. The selection of using software as a teaching aid is the right choice because the software can help understand more quickly and can save time to complete long calculations, database management, and repeated iteration processes. For this reason, a simple software was created which includes simulations of property calculations, heat transfer processes, geometric analysis, visualization of system models and process analysis. The flow of making this software goes through several stages, including: literature study, system design, work processes and evaluations aimed at determining the performance of the software. In the design, so that this software is easy to understand and more attractive, the selection and arrangement are divided into three forms, namely the input form, the calculation form and the datasheet form. This software was created using the Delphi7 Programming Language. In this program, calculations are carried out with various input flow directions (crossflow, counterflow), various deck type options, to obtain various construction options for cooling towers
