Abstract
Feedwater heater (FWH) merupakan suatu peralatan yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi PLTU. FWH bekerja dengan menaikkan temperatur air kondensat yang akan memasuki boiler. Pada kondisi aktual, FWH di pembangkit beberapa kali mengalami kerusakan yang mengharuskan adanya perbaikan. Ketika closed FWH menjalani maintenance, pembangkit tetap dioperasikan secara normal namun unit closed FWH yang rusak akan dimatikan, kondisi ini dinamakan out of service. Out of service salah satu closed FWH tentunya akan mengurangi efisiensi PLTU dari kondisi normalnya. Penelitian dalam proyek akhir ini akan membahas tentang pengaruh out of service setiap closed FWH terhadap kinerja PLTU Paiton Unit 7. Variasi dilakukan dengan mematikan salah satu dari tujuh closed FWH secara bergantian yang disimulasikan menggunakan software Cycle Tempo. FWH 5 tidak dimasukkan ke dalam variasi karena FWH 5 adalah deaerator (open FWH). Parameter kinerja pembangkit yang dianalisis adalah perubahan temperatur feedwater boiler, efisiensi termal pembangkit, dan heat rate pembangkit. Hasil penelitian pengaruh out of service closed FWH terhadap kinerja pembangkit, mulai dari variasi normal sampai variasi ke-7 didapatkan tren penurunan pada grafik temperatur feedwater boiler, tren kenaikan pada grafik efisiensi termal pembangkit dan tren penurunan pada grafik heat rate pembangkit. Out of service high pressure closed FWH memiliki perubahan kinerja pembangkit yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan low pressure closed FWH. Dan perubahan terbesar terjadi pada out of service FWH 7, karena FWH 7 memiliki mass flow rate uap masukan yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan FWH lain, yaitu sebesar 51,026 kg/s.

Feedwater heater (FWH) is an equipment used to increase the efficiency of the steam power plant. FWH works by increasing the temperature of the condensate water that entering the boiler. In actual conditions, the FWH at the power plant has been damaged several times which requires repairs. When the closed FWH undergoes maintenance, the power plant still continue normally operation but the damaged closed FWH unit will be turned off, this condition is called out of service. Out of service in one closed FWH will reduce the efficiency of the steam power plant from its normal condition. Research in this final project will discuss the effect of out of service each closed FWH on the performance of steam power plant Paiton Unit 7. Variations are made by turning off one of the seven closed FWH alternately which is simulated using Cycle Tempo software. FWH 5 is not included in the variation because FWH 5 is a deaerator (open FWH). The power plant performance parameters analyzed are temperature changes, steam power plant thermal efficiency, and power plant heat rate. The results of the research on the effect of out of service closed FWH on power plant performance, from the normal variation to the 7th variation, obtained a downward trend in the feedwater boiler temperature graph, an increasing trend in the power plant thermal efficiency graph and a decreasing trend in the power plant heat rate graph. Out of service high pressure closed FWH has a greater change in generator performance compared to low pressure closed FWH. And the biggest change occurred in the out of service FWH 7, because FWH 7 had a larger input steam mass flow compared to other FWHs, which was 51.026 kg/s
