Abstract

Untuk melakukan optimasi proses terlebih dahulu ditentukan hubungan antara ketiga kinerja proses pemesinan Wire-EDM terhadap variabel proses ON Time (ON), OFF Time (OFF), Servo Reference Voltage (SV) dan Servo Speed (SF) dengan menggunakan metode permukaan respon. Ketiga nilai tersebut diperoleh dengan menetapkan nilai On Time (ON) sebesar 6, OFF Time (OFF) sebesar 23, Servo Reference Voltage (SV) sebesar 39, dan servo speed(SF) sebesar 90

Some desired performance of the Wire-EDM machining process are short processing time, narrow cutting width and low surface roughness of the cutting result. The problem is how to set the process variables so that these three performance can be optimized simultaneously. To perform process optimization, the relationship between the three performance of the Wire-EDM machining process to the process variables ON Time (ON), OFF Time (OFF), Servo Reference Voltage (SV) and Servo Speed (SF) is first determined using the response surface method. The relationship model is obtained from experiments conducted based on the central composite design (CCD). Finally, the three models are used in multi-response optimization with a desirability function approach. Through this study, a second-order polynomial empirical model of processing time, cutting width and surface roughness of the workpiece is obtained. From optimization on a 10 mm long cut, the shortest processing time is 318 seconds, the narrowest cutting width is 3.21 um and the minimum surface roughness in Ra is 1.69 um. These three values are obtained by setting the On Time (ON) value to 6, the OFF Time (OFF) to 23, the Servo Reference Voltage (SV) to 39, and the servo speed (SF) to 90
