Abstract

Pengamatan terumbu karang dengan metode manta tow merupakan metode pengamatan yang sering dipakai masyarakat di daerah pesisir. Metode ini digunakan karena cocok dalam pengamatan untuk daerah terumbu karang yang luas dalam waktu pendek. Namun terdapat kekurangan yakni terkadang peneliti lupa akan objek yang diamati dan adanya objek yang terlewati. Dengan memanfaatklan fungsi kamera pada ROV dalam pengamatan, pada tugas akhir ini akan meningkatkan hasil pengamatan kamera dengan dilakukan pembuatan program olah citra pengamatan terumbu karang pada kondisi air dengan variasi tingkat intensitas cahaya berbeda dengan teori color balance untuk mendapatkan hasil citra yang layak untuk diamati. Pengamatan terumbu karang menjadi lebih maksimal dengan memanfaatkan hasil video yang ditangkap pada kamera yang dapat diputar kembali untuk memastikan tidak adanya objek yang terlewat. Untuk hasil proses citra berdasar data yang didapatkan, kemampuan program proses citra yang dibuat dapat memperjelas citra untuk layak dilakukan pengamatan berdasar pendapat responden. Dari hasil citra proses tersebut diketahui bila masing-masing nilai RGB saling mendekati, hasil citra semakin baik, dan sebaliknya bila ada perbedaan yang besar, citra kurang layak diamati. Berdasar hasil yang didapat citra yang paling baik dilakukan pemrosesan ialah citra dengan intensitas cahaya 11230 lux.

Observation of coral reefs using the manta tow method is an observation method that is often used by people in coastal areas. This method is used because it is suitable for observing large areas of coral reefs in a short time. However, there is a drawback, namely that sometimes researchers forget the object being observed and the existence of an object is missed. By utilizing the camera function on the ROV in observation, this final project will improve the results of camera observations by making an image processing program for observing coral reefs in water conditions with variations in light intensity levels different from color balance theory to get image results that are worth observing. Observations of coral reefs are maximized by utilizing the video captured on a camera that can be played back to ensure that no objects are missed. For the results of the image processing based on the data obtained, the ability of the image processing program created can clarify the image to be worthy of observation based on the opinion of the respondent. From the results of the image process, it is known that if each RGB value approaches each other, the image results will be better, and vice versa if there is a large difference, the image is not worth observing. Based on the results obtained, the best image processing is the image with a light intensity of 11230 lux.
