Abstract
Selama ini untuk menentukan minyak pelumas sudah waktunya diganti atau belum masih berpedoman pada jarak tempuh (km) untuk kendaraan bermotor. Pedoman tersebut kurang tepat, karena belum pemah dilakukan pengecekan tentang kebenarannya, apakah jarak tempuh misalnya, 2000 km, 3000 km, dan sebagainya minyak pelumas pada sepeda motor harus diganti ?. Salah satu cara untuk menentukan minyak pelumas sudah waktunya diganti atau belum dapat diukur dengan mengukur viskositasnya, agar kelayakan-pakai minyak pelumas dapat diketahui. Dalam tugas akhir ini dilakukan analisis kelayakan-pakai minyak pelumas pada sepeda motor ( 2-Tak) berdasarkan viskositas dengan metode viskometer bola jatuh. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kelayakan pakai minyak pelumas SAE 20W - 50 pada sepeda motor 2-Tak berdasarkan viskositas dengan viskometer bola jatuh sampai pada jarak tempuh 3400 km

So far, to determine whether the lubricating oil is time to be replaced or not, it is still based on the mileage (km) for motor vehicles. This guideline is less accurate, because it has never been checked for its accuracy, whether the mileage, for example, 2000 km, 3000 km, and so on, the lubricating oil on a motorbike must be replaced? One way to determine whether the lubricating oil is time to be replaced or not can be measured by measuring its viscosity, so that the suitability of the lubricating oil can be known. In this final assignment, an analysis of the suitability of the lubricating oil on a motorbike (2-Stroke) is carried out based on viscosity using the falling ball viscometer method. The test results show that the suitability of using SAE 20W - 50 lubricating oil on 2-stroke motorcycles is based on viscosity with a falling ball viscometer up to a distance of 3400 km
