Abstract
Desain Capstone memiliki tujuan penting untuk membantu pembentukan karakter mahasiswa sebagai Profil Profesional Mandiri dan berkontribusi melalui bidang ilmunya. Pada Tugas Akhir ini, mahasiswa dituntut untuk dapat mendemonstrasikan kemampuan menyelesaikan suatu masalah menggunakan pendekatan engineering yang diterapkan secara benar dan profesional. Tidak cukup sampai disitu, mahasiswa juga didorong untuk mengeksplorasi batas maksimal kemampuan dirinya untuk dapat bekerjasama dalam suatu tim dan menemukan kemungkinan-kemungkinan inovasi dalam solusi yang ditawarkan. Capstone Project ini merupakan kulminasi dari kuliahkuliah sebelumnya yang telah dipelajari dan diselesaikan oleh seorang mahasiswa/i. Dalam pengertian lain, pada kuliah ini, mahasiswa/i diharapkan dapat memanfaatkan dan menunjukan pengetahuan dan pengalaman yang diperoleh setelah mengikuti kuliahkuliah pada tahun tahun I, II dan III. Mahasiswa dapat merancang dan membangun prototipe fisik untuk memvalidasi solusi mereka. Dengan meneliti masalah, mengembangkan solusi untuk memecahkan masalah, keterampilan berkomunikasi, dan kerja sama tim, mereka mengembangkan keterampilan kepemimpinan dan dinamika kelompok. Mahasiswa mengikuti kuliah yang diberikan oleh dosen dari MNU dan ITS dengan topik antara lain desain industri, manufaktur, kekayaan intelektual, kode dan standar, serta etika. Syarat dimensi model desain capstone adalah 30 cm (L) x 30 cm (B) x 30 cm (H). Dosen memberikan syarat spesifikasi objek. Syarat pertama adalah model harus memiliki sarat air 15 cm. Syarat kedua adalah objek dapat diberikan bobot sebesar 5kg-8kg. Syarat ketiga adalah sarat air objek harus kembali ke sarat air semula (15cm). Setiap kelompok harus membuat objek dengan karakteristik dan kreativitas masing-masing. Pada sidang akhir semester, kelompok mahasiswa harus menunjukkan kepada dosen penguji hasil dari rancangan dan prototipe fisk objek mereka, pengujian 3 syarat yang telah diberikan kepada mahasiswa, dan dipresentasikan hasil desain capstone.

Capstone design has the important purpose of helping shape the character of students as Independent Professional Profiles and contribute through their fields of knowledge. In this final project, students are required to demonstrate the ability to solve a problem using an engineering approach that is applied correctly and professionally. Then, students are also encouraged to explore the maximum limits of their ability to be able to work together in a team and find possibilities for innovation in the solutions offered. This Capstone Design is the culmination of previous lectures that have been studied and completed by a student. In another sense, in this course, students are expected to be able to utilize and demonstrate the knowledge and experience gained after attending lectures in years I, II, and III. Students can design and build physical prototypes to validate their solutions. By researching problems, and developing solutions to problem-solving, communication skills, and teamwork, they develop leadership skills and group dynamics. Students attend lectures from MNU and ITS with topics including industrial design, manufacturing, intellectual property, codes and standards, and ethics. The requirements for the dimensions of the capstone design model are 30 cm (L) x 30 cm (B) x 30
cm (H). Lecturers provide object specification requirements. The first requirement is that the model must have a water load of 15 cm. The second condition is that the object can be given a weight of 5kg-8kg. The third condition is that the object's water load must return to its original water load (15cm). Each group must create objects with their own characteristics and creativity. At the end of the semester session, the student group must show the examiner the results of their concept design and physical prototype of the object, test the 3 conditions that have been given to students, and present the results of the capstone design.
