Abstract
Double-body offshore platform such as floating structure is equipped with a ballast tank system that runs vertically from top of the lower body to the bottom of the lower body on the structure. This ballast water will come out from the holes which have its determined dimensions from the calculation. The passive ballasting system in this double-body structure will use the function of water inside the lower body. The capacity of the ballast tank will be the same as the maximum weight that will be added on top of the structure. The water in ballast tank can come out because the water inside the structure has the same pressure with the water outside the structure. The structure must maintain the initial draft automatically. The passive ballasting system will be conducted because it has some advantages. The design and engineering calculation are carefully determined for the safety stability and effiicient usage of the offshore platform. In this structure, there are three main parts of the body which are upper-part body, lower-part body and the piston. The manual calculation is conducted in this project. Beside of that, modelling and simulation are also conducted using the CATIA, PATRAN and HYPERMESH software. The object will be constructed in this project to made the planned object
