Abstract

Terumbu karang terletak pada zona transisi antara ekosistem laut dan darat sehingga berpotensi mengalami kerusakan. Berbagai kasus kerusakan dan penurunan kualitas terumbu karang telah dilaporkan terjadi di seluruh dunia selama beberapa dekade terakhir baik karena faktor alami maupun antropogenik. Salah satu metode untuk merehabilitasi terumbu karang yang mengalami kerusakan di Pasir Putih Situbondo adalah melalui aplikasi terumbu buatan (artificial reef). Pemulihan terumbu karang dapat dilihat dari aspek rekrutmen karang yang terjadi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat rekrutmen juvenil karang pada struktur terumbu buatan model frame kubus beton dengan susunan berbeda (piramida dan tersebar) serta substrat alami di Pasir Putih Situbondo. Terdapat perbedaan densitas rekrutmen karang pada tipe substrat berbeda; pada substrat alami (karang mati) sebesar 10,3±2,11 koloni/m² yang tergolong kategori sangat tinggi; pada terumbu buatan kubus berongga tersebar sebesar 7,6±3,44 koloni/m² atau kategori tinggi dan pada terumbu buatan kubus berongga tersusun piramid sebesar 17,7±2,16 koloni/m² atau termasuk kategori sangat tinggi. Jumlah genera rekrutmen karang tertinggi adalah pada substrat alami sebesar 10 genera, pada terumbu buatan kubus berongga tersebar sebesar 6 genera dan pada terumbu buatan kubus berongga tersusun piramid sebesar 9 genera. Komposisi genera rekrutmen karang antara tipe substrat relatif serupa dan didominasi oleh genera Porites, Goniastrea, Favites, Favia dan Fungia. Hasil uji normalitas data didapatkan Kolmogorov-Smirnov (Liliefors) dan Shapiro-Wilk menunjukkan bahwa nilai p>0,05 data terdistribusi secara normal. Hasil uji Anova yang dilanjutkan dengan uji HSD pada α = 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata densitas rekrutmen karang pada substrat terumbu alami dan kubus tersebar adalah tidak berbeda secara signifikan, dimana nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,075. Hasil uji Anova dan HSD menunjukkan bahwa nilai kubus tersebar dan terumbu alami berbeda secara signifikan dengan densitas rekrutmen pada substrat kubus piramida.

Coral reefs are located in the transition zone between marine and land ecosystems, so they have the potential to be damaged. Various cases of damage and degradation of the quality of coral reefs have been reported throughout the world over the last few decades due to both natural and anthropogenic factors. One method to rehabilitate damaged coral reefs at Pasir Putih Situbondo is through the application of artificial reefs. The recovery of coral reefs can be seen from the aspect of coral recruitment that occurs. The purpose of this study was to determine the recruitment rate of juvenile corals on the artificial reef structure model of a concrete cube frame model with different arrangements (pyramid and scattered) as well as natural substrates in Pasir Putih Situbondo. There are differences in the density of coral recruitment on different substrate types; on natural substrate (dead coral) of 10.3±2.11 colonies/m² which is classified as very high category; on artificial reefs the hollow cubes are spread out at 7.6 ± 3.44 colonies/m² or high category and on artificial reefs the hollow cubes are arranged in pyramids of 17.7±2.16 colonies/m² or very high category. The highest number of coral recruitment genera was on natural substrates of 10 genera, on artificial reefs of hollow cubes scattered by 6 genera and on artificial reefs of hollow cubes composed of pyramids of 9 genera. The composition of coral recruitment genera between substrate types was relatively similar and dominated by the genera Porites, Goniastrea, Favites, Favia and Fungia. The results of the normality test of the data obtained by Kolmogorov-Smirnov (Liliefors) and Shapiro-Wilk showed that the p value> 0.05 the data was normally distributed. The results of the Anova test followed by the HSD test at = 0.05 showed that the average density of coral recruitment on natural reef substrates and scattered cubes was not significantly different, where the significance value was 0.075. The results of the Anova and HSD tests showed that the values of scattered cubes and natural reefs were significantly different from the recruitment density on the pyramidal cube substrate.
