Abstract

The offshore structure make to fulfill one of the conditions obtaining a bachelor’s degree in engineering. The offshore structure has the limitation dimension is 30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm. The requirement of the offshore structure is within 60 second after added the random weight. Based on the all limitation, the idea design we choose the offshore structure using passive ballasting system and all material of the offshore structure is polycarbonate. The prevent the ballasting system waterproof using the plastic membrane. In this system we using principle of the archimedes principle. The offshore structure consist of main body and piston. The offshore structure has the double-body, the function of the double body as a floating body. After discussion about the system, the next step is do analysis. The analysis structure we do with Hypermesh software, the result of Hypermesh software will be run on Patran software and Nastran software. The result of the analysis is displacement analysis and stress analysis. The displacement of the offshore structure body is 5.36. And the stress analysis of the offshore structure body is 5.307 MPa. And the displacement analysis of the offshore structure piston is 8.676. And the stress analysis of the offshore structure piston is 1.991 MPa. After get all the result of the analysis we calculate the allowable stress of the offshore structure. The allowable stress of the offshore structure is 31.5 MPa. So when compare the result anaysis between the allowable stress the offshore structure is safe, because the allowable stress larger than the maximum stress of the offshore structure.
