Abstract

This internship was carried out at Palm Studio with a focus on developing Kunafa, a Business to Business-based action game developed using the Unity game engine. During the internship, students acted as game programmers and were involved in developing several key systems, namely the audio system, gameplay system, enemy behaviour, and camera and player control systems. The audio system was developed using FMOD audio middleware with an event-based approach to manage sound effects dynamically. In the gameplay system, students implemented combat mechanics, an auto-aim system, and weapon settings to keep the game responsive and balanced, especially on mobile devices. In addition, enemy behaviour was adjusted to create dynamic challenges, and a camera system with adaptive movement and touch-based controls was implemented. Testing was carried out through internal testing during the development process, utilising feedback from the Project Manager, who also acted as Quality Assurance. Testing results indicate that the developed system functions well and supports the gaming experience, although there are still some improvement suggestions that will serve as the basis for further development.
