Abstract
Berdasarkan data tersebut, dilakukan perhitungan ulang parameter proteksi, termasuk arus pickup (Iset), Time Dial Setting (TDS), dan time delay (td).

PT Polytama Propindo plans to increase its electrical power supply from the national utility (PLN) to 150 kV to meet growing production demands. This power upgrade will alter the short-circuit fault current levels, necessitating a thorough evaluation and readjustment of the existing electrical protection system. The initial system exhibited coordination issues, such as overlapping curves and non-standard tripping times, which could compromise operational reliability. This study aims to determine the new settings for the overcurrent protection relays (50/51) and analyze the protection coordination system to ensure it operates reliably and selectively after the power increase. The research methodology involved modeling and simulating the electrical system using ETAP software. The analysis began with load flow and short-circuit studies to determine normal operating currents and the maximum and minimum fault currents. Based on this data, protection parameters, including pickup current (Iset), Time Dial Setting (TDS), and time delay (td), were recalculated. The new settings were verified by analyzing the Time-Current Curves (TCC) for three typical feeder paths representative of the entire system. The results demonstrate that the re-setting successfully coordinated the protection system. The new TCC plots no longer overlap, and the tripping time sequence between main and backup relays now complies with the 0.2–0.4 second Coordination Time Interval (CTI) recommended by IEEE Std 242-2001. This readjustment yields a selective, sensitive, and coordinated protection system capable of effectively isolating faults, thereby ensuring the safety and reliability of the power supply at PT Polytama Propindo.
