Abstract

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Bandung Regency was rocked by an earthquake with a magnitude of M 4.9. This earthquake was a shallow earthquake. The earthquake had a huge impact, damaging hundreds of houses and public facilities. This study aims to analyze the earthquake hazard zone in the Bandung Regency area. The method used in this study is Interferometer SAR (InSAR) Sentinel-1 satellite imagery to obtain earthquake deformation and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) combined with Geographic Information System (GIS) to create earthquake hazard zones. In this study, three factors that influence the earthquake hazard zone were used, namely, distance from deformation, Vs30, and geological structure. The results of this study show a height of 0.2 m with an altitude area of 51.3 km² from the Northeast to the Southwest. There are three levels of earthquake hazard zones in Bandung Regency, namely the moderate hazard zone (yellow zone) covering 97.05% of the total area of Bandung Regency or approximately 1,682.6 km², the high hazard zone (orange zone) covering 1.48% of the total area of Bandung Regency or approximately 25.7 km² and the very high hazard zone (red zone) covering 1.47% of the total area of Bandung Regency or approximately 25.6 km². The moderate hazard zone (yellow zone) is found in the districts of Cimenyan, Cileunyi, Rancaekek, Cicalengka, Nagreg, Majalaya and several other districts. The high hazard zone (orange zone) is found in the districts of Pengalengan and Kertasari. The very high hazard zone (red zone) is found in three districts, namely Pengalengan, Kertasari and Pacet.
