Abstract

Seiring dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan, mulai bermunculan kendaraan-kendaraan otonom beroperasi di jalan raya. Salah satu penerapan teknologi kendaraan otonom dapat dijumpai pada transportasi umum iCar ITS yang beroperasi di lingkungan kampus Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). Aplikasi mobile Augmented Reality (AR) iCar ITS merupakan sarana komunikasi antara pengguna dengan kendaraan otonom iCar ITS. Kerangka kerja yang akan digunakan pada pengembangan aplikasi ini adalah Flutter yang merupakan kerangka kerja cross-platform. Penggunaan kerangka kerja crossplatform dapat mengurangi kompleksitas pengembangan dan pemeliharaan secara signifikan karena aplikasi yang dibuat dapat dijalankan di sistem operasi Android dan iOS dengan menggunakan basis kode yang sama. Untuk mendukung fungsi aplikasi ini, flutter_map Software Development Kit (SDK) dengan Open Source Routing Machine (OSRM) menjadi pilihan dalam pengembangan aplikasi mobile AR iCar ITS karena menyediakan fitur-fitur yang dibutuhkan dengan layanan gratis untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sistem saat ini. Selain kebutuhan fungsional sistem, penerapan fitur AR menawarkan potensi untuk meningkatkan pengalaman pengguna, seperti menampilkan informasi sistem secara interaktif. Pengembangan aplikasi ini mengimplementasikan fitur AR menggunakan Unity dengan Vuforia SDK dan diintegrasikan dengan Flutter menggunakan flutter_unity_widget untuk memberikan pengalaman pengguna yang interaktif. Penelitian ini merupakan inisiasi pengembangan aplikasi mobile AR iCar yang dilaksanakan berdasarkan dokumen desain sistem dan antarmuka pengguna yang merupakan luaran dari penelitian sebelumnya. Luaran yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah aplikasi mobile AR iCar ITS yang siap digunakan sebagai sarana komunikasi utama untuk mendukung operasional iCar sebagai transportasi umum otonom.

Along with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles have started to emerge and operate on public roads. One example of autonomous vehicle implementation is iCar ITS public transportation, which operates within the campus of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS). The iCar ITS mobile Augmented Reality (AR) application serves as a communication medium between users and the autonomous iCar ITS vehicles. Framework to be used in the development of this application is Flutter that is a cross-platform framework. The use of a cross-platform framework can significantly reduce the complexity of development and maintenance because the applications developed can run on both Android and iOS operating systems using the same codebase. To support the application's functionality, flutter_map Software Development Kit (SDK) combined with the Open Source Routing Machine (OSRM) API was chosen for the development of the iCar ITS application because it provides the necessary features with free services to meet the current system requirements. Beyond the primary system requirements, the implementation of AR features offers the potential to enhance the user experience, such as by displaying interactive system information. The development of this application implements the AR feature using Unity with the Vuforia SDK and is integrated with Flutter using the flutter_unity_widget to deliver an interactive user experience. This research is an initiative to develop the iCar mobile AR application based on system design and user interface documents, which are the outputs of previous studies. The expected outcome of this research is a ready-to-use iCar mobile AR application as the main communication tool to support iCar operations as an autonomous public transportation system.
