Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in Indonesian women. One of the reasons is the lack of information and socialization about prevention through Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination. HPV infection ,transmitted through sexual intercourse, can cause problems in the reproductive organs and may develop into cervical cancer in the long term. This design project focuses on Gen Z teenagers and young adults between the ages 19–24 years old on both male and female who frequently use social media such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Many people in this age group have started to think about relationships and marriage, but still have not received the HPV vaccine. Some of the reasons are limited knowledge about HPV and cervical cancer, not knowing where to get information about the vaccine, and the perception that the vaccination cost is quite expensive. The purpose of this motion comic is to introduce and promote HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention to young social media users through short videos that. The methods used in this project are literature study, surveys of the target audience, and in-depth interviews with relevant informants. The final outcome consists of three motion comic episodes titled For Bright Future, designed in a vertical video format. Evaluation through user testing indicates an increase in audience understanding of HPV vaccination and a higher intention to get vaccinated. These findings demonstrate that motion comics are an effective visual communication medium for promoting HPV vaccin among young adults.
