Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan utama pada material logam adalah korosi. Korosi dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada material logam dan menurunkan kualitasnya. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, diperlukan suatu metode pembersihan karat yang efektif. Salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan adalah sandblasting. Sandblasting merupakan suatu teknik pembersihan permukaan material berkarat menggunakan pasir silika yang dipencarkan pada permukaan material dengan tekanan udara. Pada penelitian ini, dirancang sebuah sistem sandblasting otomatis untuk pembersihan karat pada material logam. Sistem ini terdiri dari beberapa komponen utama, yaitu mini blast pot, kompresor, sensor warna TCS34725, pressure transmitter. Sensor TCS34725 digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat kekaratan material logam berdasarkan nilai RGB (Red, Green, Blue). Kompresor disini menjadi komponen yang paling penting karena berfungsi untuk mendorong udara bertekanan melalui nozzle dengan inlet ganda disertai dengan pasir silika sehingga pasir silika akan bergesekan dengan material logam yang berkarat. Diharapkan hasil proyek akhir ini dapat menunjukkan bahwa sistem sandblasting otomatis yang dirancang dapat bekerja dengan baik sesuai dengan variasi sistem sandblasting yaitu 3 menit, 5 menit, 10 menit, dengan pressure kompresor yang digunakan 8 bar ditandai dengan penurunan nilai RGB pada sensor TCS 34725

One of the main problems in metal materials is corrosion. Corrosion can cause damage to metal materials and reduce their quality. To overcome this problem, an effective rust removal method is needed. One method that can be used is sandblasting. Sandblasting is a technique for cleaning the surface of rusted materials using silica sand that is spread on the surface of the material with air pressure. In this study, an automatic sandblasting system was designed for cleaning rust on metal materials. This system consists of several main components, namely a mini blast pot, compressor, TCS34725 color sensor, pressure transmitter. The TCS34725 sensor is used to measure the level of rust in metal materials based on RGB (Red, Green, Blue) values. The compressor here is the most important component because it functions to push pressurized air through a nozzle with a double inlet accompanied by silica sand so that the silica sand will rub against the rusted metal material. It is hoped that the results of this final project can show that the designed automatic sandblasting system can work well according to the variations of the sandblasting system, namely 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, with the compressor pressure used being 8 bar, indicated by a decrease in the RGB value on the TCS 34725 sensor
