Abstract

Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) often face difficulties in maintaining focus, controlling impulses, and developing fine motor skills. Although conventional therapies such as occupational therapy and cognitive therapy are widely applied, patients may experience boredom during sessions due to their repetitive and slow-paced nature. The gamification approach has begun to be used in the healthcare field as a more interactive and engaging alternative intervention. This final project aims to design and develop an interactive game prototype based on the Leap Motion Controller to be used as a medium for non-pharmacological therapy for children with ADHD. The game is designed to train inhibitory control, sustained attention, and memory training through hand gesture interactions in a three-dimensional environment. The game development follows a user-centered design approach, beginning with a needs analysis through literature study, observation, and interviews with experts, which is then followed by the design and system integration phases. Through this final project, it is hoped to create an innovative and potential initial solution to enhance the effectiveness of therapy for children with ADHD using an interactive technology approach, while also promoting the utilization of the Leap Motion Controller as a supporting device for rehabilitation therapy in Indonesia.
