Abstract

The increase in CO₂ emissions from the industrial sector, particularly from boiler systems, has become one of the major contributors to global climate change. This study aims to design and implement a CO₂ emission monitoring system for a vertical boiler based on carbon capture technology using the absorption method. The system is developed using an Arduino Mega as the main controller and an MH-Z19 sensor to detect CO₂ concentration. The carbon capture process is carried out using a monoethanolamine (MEA) solution in an absorber unit. An On–Off control system is employed to regulate the operation of the MEA circulation pump. The experimental results show that the system is capable of monitoring CO₂ concentration in real time and reducing the CO₂ emission levels produced by the vertical boiler, thereby contributing to climate change mitigation efforts and supporting environmental sustainability
