Abstract

Quarter car test bench is used to demonstrate the behavior of pasif and semi-actif suspension. This system is made of two masses in vertical translation. They are sprung mass and unsprung mass. Sprung mass consists of vehicle body, seats, passengers, etc. And, unsprung mass consists of the wheel, control arm, breaking system, etc. Both of them is linked by a suspension made of the spring and the damper. There are two kinds of the damper that could be set in this system. They are passive damper (the damping coefficient is constant) and semi-active damper (the damping coefficient could be changed by changing the value of PWM). The internship is focused on the physical modeling of quarter car test bench. There are six point that could be analyzed from the modelisation. They are motor position, damper deflection, damper force, caisse position, caisse acceleration, and wheel acceleration. The result of the modelisation shows that each model data could reach the value (amplitude) of each real data. Furthermore, both of data has almost the same phase with some limitation created because of the non-linearity of the system and the precision of the sensor.
