Abstract
Dinding kanal di sepanjang Thorbeckegracht, Zwolle, merupakan bagian dari sistem tepi laut perkotaan yang menua dan semakin terpengaruh oleh degradasi material, perubahan kondisi lingkungan, dan beban permukaan modern yang lebih tinggi, yang secara bersamaan menimbulkan kekhawatiran tentang stabilitas dan keamanan jangka panjang. Proyek akhir ini berfokus pada perancangan ulang bagian dinding kanal yang dipilih (sekitar 50 m) sambil mempertahankan tampilan historis struktur asli dan mendukung pengambilan keputusan pemerintah kota tentang strategi penggantian. Studi ini menerapkan alur kerja terstruktur yang menggabungkan survei kondisi lokasi, tinjauan dokumen, dan interpretasi geoteknik menggunakan data bawah permukaan yang tersedia untuk menentukan stratigrafi tanah lokal dan implikasinya terhadap perilaku pondasi. Aksi desain dievaluasi melalui pemeriksaan stabilitas statis per meter panjang dinding yang terguling, bergeser, dan kapasitas daya dukung sambil memperhitungkan kontribusi tiang kayu dalam resistensi lateral jika berlaku. Kasus beban yang relevan dengan dinding kanal di dalam kota diidentifikasi dan diterjemahkan ke dalam aksi desain, termasuk beban permukaan, beban tanah, efek tambatan dan sandar, dan beban tambahan dari elemen yang berdekatan seperti pohon dan keramaian. Kerangka desain yang dihasilkan memberikan keputusan mengenai turap lembaran berdiri bebas HZ-M 630M dengan panjang akhir 16 meter, turap lembaran itu sendiri mendukung gagasan keberlanjutan dengan masa pakai yang tahan lama.

The quay walls along Thorbeckegracht, Zwolle, are part of an aging urban waterfront system that is increasingly affected by material degradation, changing environmental conditions, and higher modern surface loads, which together raise concerns about long-term stability and safety. This final project focuses on re-designing a selected section of the quay wall (approximately 50 m) while preserving the historic appearance of the original structures and supporting municipal decision-making on replacement strategies. The study applies a structured workflow combining site condition survey, document review, and geotechnical interpretation using available subsurface data to define the local soil stratigraphy and its implications for foundation behavior. Design actions are evaluated through static stability checks per meter length of wall overturning, sliding, and bearing capacity while accounting for the contribution of timber piles in lateral resistance where applicable. Load cases relevant to inner-city quay walls are identified and translated into design actions, including surface loads, soil loads, mooring and berthing effects, and surcharge from adjacent elements such as trees and crowds. The resulting design framework delivers a decision on the freestanding sheet piles HZ-M 630M with final length 16 meters, the sheet pile itself supported the idea of the sustainability with its durability lifespands.
