Abstract

PT.X is a subsidiary of the largest and leading parent company in Indonesia which is engaged in the distributor of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) products. The FMCG sector and the increasing sales of the parent company expect PT.X as a distributor company to be more efficient in handling the existing logistics system. The efficient concept that the company focuses on is cost-efficiency. Cost components in product delivery from distribution center to stock point are vehicle rental costs and DC loading costs. DC loading costs tend to be constant according to the total delivery frequency, but vehicle rental costs have different prices if delivery is made on ritase 1 and 2. To get a lower vehicle rental fee, PT.X has a target for ritase, that is maximizing the delivery of 2 ritases because the vehicle rental price for ritase 2 is lower than the vehicle rental price for ritase 1. To reduce rental costs, it is necessary to schedule deliveries with the aim of minimizing the total freight cost. The use of the Periodic Vehicle Scheduling Problem (PVSP) method to get the schedule with the lowest cost by maximizing the delivery of ritase 2. The periodic system is used to answer the needs of very large requests so that deliveries are made several times in 1 period. 1 period consists of 5 days of shipping. The stock point scheduling logic uses the ordering of the shipping travel time values for each stock point. The smallest order is for ritase 1 and the largest is for ritase 2. The results of the profit modeling in the use of the PVSP model. With the use of logic and PVSP scheduling method, the company's target for ritase increased by 19% to 97% with total shipping vehicle needed decrease 11 truck and saving shipping costs by 15% on the company's existing model.
