Abstract
Peningkatan kualitas produksi menjadi aspek penting untuk menjaga konsistensi dan kelayakan produk di industri manufaktur. Penelitian ini diterapkan pada produksi clear float glass di PT Asahimas Flat Glass Tbk dengan metode Six Sigma menggunakan pendekatan DMAIC yang dibatasi hingga tahap Improve karena tahap Control menyesuaikan kondisi dan jadwal produksi perusahaan. Penelitian bertujuan menentukan level sigma proses sebagai indikator kinerja kualitas, mengidentifikasi faktor penyebab utama cacat, dan memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan berkelanjutan. Analisis dilakukan dalam dua fase menggunakan peta kendali Laney P’, diagram sebab-akibat, dan 5 whys. Hasil menunjukkan nilai sigma proses sebesar 3,24σ, yang mengindikasikan masih adanya cacat yang relatif tinggi sebesar 4,06%. Faktor penyebab utama cacat meliputi manusia, material, mesin, dan metode. Usulan perbaikan untuk menurunkan tingkat cacat dan memperkuat stabilitas proses secara berkelanjutan mencakup peningkatan kompetensi operator, membuat dashboard digital untuk pemantauan umur pakai komponen, implementasi deteksi dini keausan ayakan, melakukan pengujian kelembaban material antar pemasok, serta pertimbangan Condition-Based Maintenance pada jaringan pipa.

Improving production quality is crucial to maintaining product consistency and suitability in the manufacturing industry. This study was conducted on the production of clear float glass at PT Asahimas Flat Glass Tbk using the Six Sigma methodology with the DMAIC approach, limited to the Improve phase because the Control phase depends on the company’s production conditions and schedule. The study aims to determine the process sigma level as a quality performance indicator, identify the main factors causing defects, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. The analysis was carried out in two phases using the Laney P’ control chart, cause-and-effect diagram, and 5 Whys. The results show a process sigma level of 3,24σ, indicating a relatively high defect rate of 4,06%. The main factors contributing to defects include man, material, machine, and method-related aspects. Recommended improvements to reduce defect rates and strengthen sustainable process stability include enhancing operator competence, monitoring component service life through a digital dashboard, implementing early detection of screen wear, conducting material moisture testing among suppliers, and considering Condition-Based Maintanance for the piping system.
